The city of Grand Forks says crews are expected to begin spring flood operations in the coming days.
With warmer temps, residents may notice clogged or frozen storm drains on their streets. If residents notice a flooded street due to a frozen storm drain, they’re urged to contact the city's Water Department (701.746.2595).
Officials say, as snow starts melting, residents may have their sump pumps start running. The city asks that you make sure your sump pump is discharged outside… and not into the sanitary sewer.
The City will also have a neighborhood meeting with residents in the Shadyridge/Adams Drive area on the wet side of the flood protection system. The meeting is set for 5:30 PM on Wednesday, April 12, at Fire Station Number 5 on 47th Ave. S.
