I watched Los Angeles’ finest blurt the siren, pull over some kid in a hoodie right in front of this house after dark. Getting him out of the car, handcuffing him at the sidewalk, carrying his Backpack to the LAPD SUV (searching it?) searching the nice car, searching his trunk, all the while I’m standing in the front yard yelling "Fashion Police" "Nice Car" "Rodriguez is the Law in this Country" Bla Bla. The kid drove off, nothing. The keystone kops think I’m a goofy Cracker.
Two months ago the KTLA helicopter broadcast a "chase" at 11pm, local streets, US-5 freeway (hand off to CHP) north to San Fernando, back again to Adams off ramp, (hand off back to LAPD) quick stop at 7-11, more local streets, driver pulls into our local Ralphs Market (closed but midnight restocking) and spreads out face down on the entrance, within sight of the portable Cop video trailer in the parking lot… common here in South Central. Cops are no where to be found for 15 minutes, TV announcer says that the chase was pulled off a few blocks ago so KTLA TV feed ended. I have no idea, the wife said the perp wasen't lying there when she went shopping.
P.S. Thanks for the story. If it gets me shot next time, no problem
