IPEC custom designs and fabricates liquid chromatography systems to separate and isolate proteins or impurities from a cell culture process stream. The systems are manufactured using .5" to 1" sanitary 316L tubing, dependent on the required size of the system, with flow controlled utilizing rotary lobe, peristaltic or diaphragm proportioning pumps.

The systems come equipped with multi-port inlet and discharge valves to allow automatic directional control of product, buffer solutions, WFI into the systems and drain, waste and fraction collection from the systems. A multi-port chromatography valve allows forward, reverse and bypass flow to the column. Additional multi-port valves can be included to allow flow through or to bypass the system's bubble trap or filter.

Pre and post column instrumentation includes bubble detection, mass flow, pressure, pH, conductivity, UV and temperature monitoring devices as required.

Multi-port transfer flow plates can be provided on the inlet and discharge of the systems. These allow the chromatography system, supply and discharge piping to be isolated for CIP. Position verification ensures that the correct connections are made, prior to starting the sequence.

IPEC's custom designed systems can be provided with DCS or PLC based control systems or provided with termination panels to interface to a customer's specific control platform. A separate motor control panel, provided with the system includes variable frequency drives (VFD's) and motor protection equipment.

Standard documentation provided with each system includes but is not necessarily limited to; PID schematics, 3D package assembly drawings, mechanical and electrical bills of materials, electrical control drawings, incoming material inspection reports, weld maps and inspection reports, IQ/OQ reports and factory test reports.

All IPEC systems are prevalidated. Optional, customer witnessed wet testing can be provided utilizing in-house utility systems, such as plant steam, clean steam, DI water, soft water, city water, compressed air and power from 115 VAC single phase through 480 VAC three phase.
