Vogelsang's new umbilical trailing shoe option and separator

Mar 18, 2023Mar 18, 2023

A popular popular trailing shoe application system now has a newly launched umbilical option.

Vogelsang's UniSpread gets the umbilical option after being predominantly marketed as a trailing shoe option, which offers great precision for slurry placement.

This new version can be mounted directly to the tractor, while the slurry is pumped through the umbilical system. Vogelsang's take on this is that it can reduce overall weight in the field by eliminating the need for a slurry tanker. The option will be available in working widths of 7.5-10.5m.

Another focus comes from the recently launched press screw separator, the XSplit, which is a complete system solution consisting of the separator, a VX-series rotary lobe pump and a RotaCut wet cutter all connected up to control technology.

"It's becoming increasingly important for our customers to get the most from digestate and slurry – as fertiliser for plant cultivation, as bedding, for soil improvement, or for power generation in biogas plants. The separation technology rounds out our portfolio for even more efficient management of digestate and liquid manure," said Sion Williams, agriculture manager at Vogelsang.

The XSplit separation technology enables farmers and biogas plant operators to optimally separate slurry, by achieving a dry matter content within the solids share of up to 40%, making it suitable for many different agricultural applications.

By repositioning the drive at the solid's outlet, no extra shaft seal is required, thus greatly reducing wear costs and maintenance downtimes, said Mr Williams.
